The Institute for Illustration Gallery
Illustration House is establishing its country headquarters in Vermont, in the very valley that nurtured Mead Schaeffer, John Atherton, George Hughes, and Norman Rockwell. The Institute for Illustration Gallery is installed as a pop-up space in Manchester, and eventually the permanent gallery will open in East Arlington.
Town and Country
June 29 - July 31, 2018
Magazines like Vanity Fair, House & Garden, Vogue, Town & Country, and The New Yorker have both captured and captivated the social elite.
This inaugural gallery show of illustration art, Town and Country, focuses on images that demonstrate how cool style and elegant design re-defined luxury in the early to mid-20th century.
This sale offers the opportunity to acquire original fashion drawings, lifestyle advertising art, magazine cover art, vintage fabric designs, and cartoons.
Brought to Art Manchester by Illustration House
For more than 40 years, Illustration House has been America’s premier destination for collectors devoted to the art and history of illustration.
The gallery/auction house offers a fascinating look at the intersection of American pop culture and art history of the past. Thousands of oil paintings, drawings, and watercolors cover a broad range of styles, genres (including poster design, book decoration, advertising, comic strip, calendar art, record album, and magazine covers), and subjects: science fiction, romance, history, suspense, fairy tales, pinups, humor, and fashion, to name a few.
